As previously reported, the novel centers on a road-weary singer exhausted after finally making it to the big time. Then, the folks at New American Library invited Shackleford to pen a novel inspired by the song, which she co-wrote in 2013 with Travis Trasher. ![]() ![]() The song was included on Shelton's 2012 holiday album, "Cheers, It's Christmas," and Shelton and Shackleford performed it on his 2012 NBC television special "Blake Shelton's Not-So Family Christmas." As previously reported, the 2018 telefilm "It's Time to Me to Come Home for Christmas" and the 2019 title "Time for You to Come Home for Christmas," like the new movie, were both inspired by Shelton's song, “Time for Me to Come Home.” The Ada native wrote and recorded the yuletide tune with his mom, Dorothy Shackleford.
